One investment property… one six-month lease… ten occupants… two dogs… five double trailer-loads of rubbish... twenty-eight days of lost rent... twelve thousand dollars in damage...
Little did owner Louis, from NSW, realise that the six-month lease on his Bilambil Heights house would turn into a nightmare, with his new tenants trashing the investment property.
But his fortunes quickly turned around thanks to the expert advice of EBM RentCover claims specialist, Madeline Land.
“We were so disheartened by the condition the tenants left our house in,” says Louis.
“In just six months they managed to completely trash the place. They left behind five double trailer-loads of rubbish and a lot of their personal belongings.
“The neighbours said there were up to 10 people living in our house with two big dogs confined to the balcony – none of which was approved in the lease.”

Louis has since taken the house off the rental market and moved his family in, but he still has another investment property in Lismore, protected by EBM RentCover.
