Nadia finds a niche
In her previous life as a senior consultant with a bank, Nadia Waihape dealt with a wide range of financial services including home loans, superannuation, credit cards, insurance and more.
Having made the switch to RentCover last year, she’s enjoying the opportunity to specialise and gain deeper knowledge in a specialised niche – landlord insurance.
As an Assistant Relationship Manager with EBM, she’s one of the go-to people when Executive Relationship Managers – who spend a lot of time on the road visiting property managers – need help.
“We look after more complex transactions that are outside the square, when a property manager has special requirements,” she said.
Nadia and the other Assistant Relationship Managers also ensure RentCover continues to operate smoothly by identifying improvements to back office functions, so that staff can get on with the ultimate job of looking after clients’ needs.
Working in landlord insurance has been an eye opener for Nadia: “I didn’t appreciate how many clandestine drug labs there were, how expensive they were to clean up or how many other problems landlords could experience.”
Nadia played youth netball for New Zealand in the under 16 and under 21 age groups before moving to Australia, home of the Silver Ferns’ arch nemesis, the Diamonds, 10 years ago.
While she no longer plays competitively, her sporting success has left her with a legacy of strong teamwork, a good work ethic and will to achieve.
Outside work, Nadia enjoys getting outdoors away from it all, keeping fit, travelling and hanging out with friends.
