An offer he couldn’t refuse

Employee Tim White

One phone call from Sharon Fox-Slater presented Tim White with an opportunity he simply couldn’t refuse.
“I could see the business where I had been working changing, shifting its focus from supporting real estate agents who had helped it establish itself in the marketplace to going direct to the market. A shift I wasn’t that keen on,” explained the Executive Relationship Manager in our Melbourne office.
“Luckily for me the opportunity came with a call from Sharon to see how I felt about the role and if I would be interested in joining RentCover. As I already held the brand in such high regard and being presented with the opportunity to work alongside motivated people with support from a strong management team, I simply couldn’t resist!”
That was back in October 2016 and since then Tim has hit the ground running. His role includes sourcing and qualifying active distributors/business partners and training our real estate agents as distributors, ensuring we work alongside likeminded businesses that want to protect their clients’ investments.
“The flexibility in the role keeps me motivated and energised. But my biggest enjoyment is working in a team and I’m fortunate in that I not only love the job but the people too. The support, experience and empathy from each individual makes RentCover an amazing place to be,” Tim said.
No stranger to the property industry, having worked in real estate sales and property management before making the move to insurance, Tim uses this experience to help him meet the challenges of the role.
“The most challenging part of my role is dealing with a wide variety of personality types. Although this is a challenge, it is also a huge motivating factor. I certainly wouldn’t want to let my team mates down by not being able to understand a client’s needs,” he said.
But it is precisely that understanding that Tim thinks is the reason why clients choose RentCover.
“They get peace of mind that their investment is being looked after, backed up by our claims service, policy coverage and support channels that cannot be matched.”
Away from the office, the St Kilda local can be found frequenting the local cafes with his partner – especially the dog-friendly ones so they can take along their cavoodle Simba. When not dining out or taking Simba for a walk to the foreshore, they can be found watching their beloved footy teams play live or heading out to the family beach house in Blairgowrie on the Mornington Peninsula.
