What to do if you’re impacted by a natural disaster

Do a safety walkthrough

If access to the property has been granted by the emergency services and it’s safe to enter, do a safety walkthrough and take steps to prevent further loss or damage.

Contact the insurer

EBM RentCover’s Expert Care team is on standby during natural disasters and can help answer any questions you may have about your insurance.

Capture the damage

To submit a successful insurance claim you need to establish and show a loss has occurred. You can do this by taking photos of the damage.

Seek quotes for repairs

Generally, two quotes are needed for repairs. This may be difficult during catastrophic events. So, at EBM RentCover, we require just one in the first instance.

Get a report from the repairer

A report from the repairer (also known as a causation report) helps insurers to quickly identify the cause of damage and make a quick and fully informed decision when it comes to processing a claim.

Submit a claim

Got everything sorted? Submit a claim! EBM RentCover’s claims specialists are equipped and ready to hear from you. Use our online claims portal to submit a claim with supporting documents.
